I am the ONLY conservative on the ballot for the Alachua County Commission District 3 Race. Below is a list of the goals that I have for the future of Alachua County.

Building Economic Opportunities
As a resident of Alachua County for 29 years, I have seen the potential for growth our economy holds. We have lost these opportunities because of the extremely high tax structure that makes our county unfriendly to business. The recent increase of our Gas Tax is another example of what deters business from coming to our beautiful county. With the lack of good paying jobs in Alachua County, our economy will continue to struggle in these tough times. As your next county commissioner, I will explore ways of restoring our economy so that it may flourish. By reducing our dependence on extremely high taxes and out of control and wasteful spending, our economy can fully realize its potential. Our leaders must remember that they are supposed to serve all of our citizens, and work for the interest of the citizens — not their own. That is the change I will bring to the County Commission.

Traffic and Infrastructure (Roads)
There are a great deal of roads within our county that are in desperate need of repair or paving. As your next County Commissioner, I will ensure that each road that the County Commission has control over is paved or has a plan enacted to do so by the end of my first term. It is vital that our infrastructure change from receiving a failing grade to achieving a passing score. We should not have live with our roads in disarray. Under my leadership we will fulfill the promises that the incumbent has failed to keep. Our County Commission, like our roads, needs change, and I will deliver the change needed.

Government Accountability
You work hard for your family and yourself, so your tax dollars should work hard for you. They should be used for your benefit in the most efficient and effective way possible. As your next county commissioner, I will hold our government accountable in spending the tax dollars you have approved for the purposes you outlined. Our roads and transportation infrastructure are our county’s number one complaint from our citizens. I will work hard at building consensus, and being accessible and transparent to all of our citizens.

Reduction in Violent Crime
Violent crimes against citizens and crime against property are major issues in our county. As your next County Commissioner, I will address these concerns with our Sheriff and act to fund a Violent Crime Task Force to address crime against citizens and their property. This must be a funding priority. There is a litany of issues that have contributed to our increase in crime, but the most disconcerting of these is the graduation rate throughout our county. I will look for innovative ways to work with our community to better our education system, so that we can actively deter crime before it begins.

Protecting Our Environment and Quality of Life
As a life long steward of the environment and as a small business owner whose livelihood depends on its preservation and quality, I will work hard to protect our county’s beautiful resources. As your next County Commissioner, I will utilize tools to hold accountable not only private citizens who pollute, but also especially our county government for any harm it causes to the environment. I will ensure that our county government is held to the highest environmental standards possible.
